one of the biggest life lessons that experience
has taught me (however much i wish it didn't) is,
you can never truly understand a tragedy unless you're in it.
so, belatedly, regarding the rather heated issue
of deciding whether to allow chin peng's ashes
to return to this country or otherwise,
i do not believe we or any politician should have a say,
but it should go to the people who went through it.
people who had to go through the horror of living
and surviving the hardship during our nation's past
and troubled times. those people. not us.
if they decide to reject it, so be it as it may.
but if they decide to let the pain and anger go,
and decide on forgiveness, then even better.
i would be totally fine with it. either way.
